The Femidom (or FC2) is a soft, non-latex nitrile sheath inserted into the vagina, offering a female-controlled barrier against pregnancy and STIs, including HIV. It is 17cm long with a flexible inner ring for insertion/securing and a larger outer ring covering the labia, providing ~95% efficacy if used correctly.
Key Features & Advantages
- Non-Constricting: Generally more comfortable than male condoms, as it does not rely on a male erection.
- Material: Made of nitrile polymer, making it strong and suitable for those with latex allergies
- Protection: Covers the cervix and external genitalia, reducing transmission risk of STIs.
- Flexibility: Can be inserted up to 8 hours before sexual activity.
- Compatibility: Suitable with both water and oil-based lubricants.
